Modofire fire features are intended for professional installation. Some assembly is required, including burner installation, gas connections, electrical connections where applicable, and accessories. All installation, gas piping, electrical work, testing and commissioning must be completed by a qualified licensed professional in accordance with applicable local codes.

Ignition Systems

Modofire fire features are available with several ignition systems based on burner output, installation requirements and the desired level of automation.

Battery Push-Button / Match-Lit | Standard (SC) and High Capacity (HC)
A simple, manually operated system requiring no electrical connection. The gas valve is opened by hand, and the burner is lit using either an integrated battery-powered spark igniter or a long-reach lighter. This option does not provide automatic flame monitoring or relighting. Flame height is adjusted manually using a keyed valve on the side of the fire feature.

Battery Flame-Sense | Standard Capacity (SC), Up to 250K BTU
A battery-operated flame-sensing system requiring no electrical connection. It provides convenient push-button ignition, continuous flame monitoring and automatic gas shutoff if the flame is lost. Flame height is adjusted manually using a control dial on the side of the fire feature.

Electronic Flame-Sense | Standard Capacity (SC), Up to 250K BTU
A fully automatic electronic ignition system with continuous flame monitoring, automatic relighting and safety shutoff. It can be integrated with switches, timers, remote controls and compatible home-automation systems. Flame height is adjusted manually using a keyed valve on the side of the fire feature.

Electronic Flame-Sense | High Capacity (HC), Over 250K BTU
Designed for higher-output burners and available only with electronic ignition. It provides fully automatic ignition, continuous flame monitoring, automatic relighting, safety shutoff and home-automation compatibility. High-capacity ignition is recommended for higher-BTU applications, although it may not be required for every burner configuration. Flame height is adjusted manually using a keyed valve on the side of the fire feature.

Very High Capacity (VHC) electronic ignition systems for burner outputs up to 640K BTU are also available.

Modofire uses premium ignition systems from Warming Trends, HPC, The Outdoor Plus, Firegear and other leading manufacturers. Each system is selected and configured for the burner, BTU output and installation requirements of the individual fire feature.

Fire Media

Premium rolled lava rock is included standard with every Modofire fire feature, providing a natural, refined appearance with excellent heat resistance and flame visibility.

Fire glass and other media options may be purchased separately.

Lighting

Optional integrated lighting systems are available for all fire, fountain, and spillway inserts. Modofire utilizes Blue Thumb IllumiGlow® and compatible low voltage lighting components to ensure full integration with basin, pump, and spillway systems.

Lighting applications vary by configuration:

Fire Inserts
Lighting is typically integrated through screened openings, perforations, interior pan sidewalls, or bottom illumination to create glow effects beneath or around the flame.

Fountain Inserts
Submersible or basin mounted IllumiGlow® fixtures are positioned within the interior catch basin or reservoir to illuminate moving water and vertical jets.

Spillway Systems
Directional pond and garden lights are positioned to wash the spillway face, basin, or falling sheet of water for full width illumination.

All lighting systems are low voltage and exterior rated for wet environments. Transformers and power supplies are sized per installation. Final electrical connections must be completed by a licensed professional.

Because every Modofire system is custom built, lighting placement, quantity, and transformer sizing vary based on scale, layout, and design intent.

Shipping & Lead Time

Lead times. Most Modofire products are made to order. Quoted production and shipping dates are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. Lead times vary with the design, finish, components, and fabrication schedule. We will communicate material changes to the expected shipping schedule. Transit time begins when the carrier receives the shipment.

Shipping and delivery. Products ship from Modofire or our domestic fabrication partners. Shipping method and cost depend on the size, weight, destination, and delivery requirements of the order. Smaller items generally ship by parcel carrier. Large or custom pieces generally ship crated by freight for curbside delivery, with a liftgate when included in the shipping arrangement. Delivery does not include placement, uncrating, assembly, gas or electrical connections, or installation.

Site readiness. The customer is responsible for providing an accurate delivery address, suitable carrier access, and people and equipment needed to receive and move the product from the delivery point. Storage, redelivery, or special-handling charges caused by unavailable access or a missed delivery appointment are the customer’s responsibility. Schedule installation only after shipment has been confirmed and the product has been received and inspected.

Delivery inspection. Inspect the crate and packaging before signing. Note any visible damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt, take photographs, and contact Modofire promptly. If damage is discovered after uncrating, retain the packaging and contact us with photographs as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours. We will help review the issue and coordinate the appropriate freight claim or resolution.

Delays and related costs. Modofire is not responsible for carrier delays, weather, permitting, site conditions, or other circumstances outside its control. To the extent permitted by law, Modofire is not responsible for costs arising from a delayed delivery, including scheduled installers, equipment, travel, or lost use.

Warranty & Coverage

Each Modofire fire feature is made to order and may combine a custom-fabricated vessel with components from several manufacturers. For that reason, the vessel and finish have separate coverage from the burner, ignition system, and controls.

Modofire warrants the fire vessel, enclosure, fire table, or sculpture it supplies to the original purchaser against defects in materials and fabrication for one year from delivery. Powder-coated finishes are covered for one year from delivery against defects in application or adhesion, including premature peeling or blistering.

Burners, ignition systems, controls, and other third-party components are covered under the applicable manufacturer’s warranty for the specific component. Terms vary by manufacturer and model. Modofire will help identify the component, coordinate a claim, and connect the purchaser or their qualified service professional with manufacturer technical support.

Installation, gas and electrical connections, startup, maintenance, and on-site service are the responsibility of qualified local professionals. Before regular use, approved fire media must be installed in the burner pan according to the burner manufacturer’s instructions. Pilot openings, drainage, and enclosure ventilation must remain clear. Qualified installers may operate the system without media when necessary for commissioning and testing.

This warranty does not cover normal wear; patina, fading, heat discoloration, surface rust, or other expected cosmetic changes; scratches or chips caused during handling or installation; or damage caused by improper installation, incorrect media placement, overheating, blocked ventilation or drainage, standing water, misuse, modification, or inadequate maintenance. Powder-coated surfaces should be cleaned with mild detergent and a soft cloth, rinsed, and kept free of accumulated salt and chemical deposits. Abrasive cleaners and harsh solvents should not be used.

To make a claim, contact Modofire with proof of purchase, photographs, and a description of the issue before returning any part. Modofire will repair or replace a covered vessel or finish defect at its discretion. Third-party component claims follow the manufacturer’s warranty process. Removal, reinstallation, on-site labor, freight, and related costs are not covered.

Returns & Cancellations

Most Modofire products are made to order for a specific project. The cancellation and return terms below reflect the work and materials committed to each order.

Cancellations. An order may be cancelled for a full refund before Modofire begins project-specific design, purchases materials, or starts fabrication. After project-specific work begins, cancellation requires Modofire’s approval, and any refund will be reduced by costs already incurred. Once fabrication begins, made-to-order products cannot be cancelled, except as required by law.

Made-to-order products. Custom-fabricated fire tables, fire features, vessels, planters, sculptures, and similar products are not eligible for return after delivery.

Burners and technical components. Burners, ignition systems, controls, and other project-specified components are not eligible for discretionary returns. Components that have been installed are not returnable. Defective or incorrect components will be reviewed under the applicable manufacturer’s warranty or order terms.

Standard accessories. Eligible, non-fabricated accessories may be returned within 30 days of delivery with prior authorization. They must be unused, uninstalled, and in their original packaging. A 12% restocking fee and return shipping costs may apply. Refunds are issued after receipt and inspection.

Finish variations. Natural variations in color, texture, and patina are characteristics of the materials and finishing processes and are not, by themselves, defects.

Problems with an order. If an item arrives damaged, is not what was ordered, or may be defective, contact Modofire before returning it. We will review the issue under the order terms and our Warranty & Coverage policy. If Modofire cannot fulfill an order, we will issue a full refund.

Maintenance & Care

Modofire powder coated aluminum fire tables are built for long-term outdoor use and require only routine maintenance.

Clean Surfaces
Wash with mild soap and water using a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, bleach, and pressure washing. In coastal or poolside environments, clean more frequently to preserve the finish.

Burner Care
Keep burner ports free of leaves, insects, debris, and fire media dust. Clean gently with a soft brush or compressed air. Do not modify the burner. Install fire media loosely and evenly for proper flame performance.

Ignition Systems
Periodically inspect gas connections, wiring, controls, and ignition components. Keep electronic systems dry and allow them to dry completely if exposed to moisture. Test operation regularly and follow the ignition manufacturer's maintenance recommendations.

Covers & Lids
Always allow the fire table to cool before installing a lid or cover. Keeping the unit covered when not in use helps protect the finish and extends the life of the burner and ignition system.

Seasonal Inspection
Before each season and after extended storage, inspect the burner, gas connections, and ignition system. Replace worn components as needed and consult a qualified professional for service.

With routine cleaning and periodic inspections, your Modofire fire table will provide years of dependable performance and lasting beauty.

Gas & Electrical Requirements

To help ensure proper performance, your fire feature will require an adequate gas supply and, depending on the ignition option selected, may require electrical power.

Gas Supply Requirements

Available for Natural Gas (NG) or Liquid Propane (LP). Most installations connect to an existing gas line or an external propane tank.

Most residential fire features operate between 90k and 300k BTU. Larger fire tables and commercial installations may require 300k BTU to 600k+ BTU.

As burner size increases, larger gas lines and sufficient gas supply become increasingly important.

Actual requirements vary based on pipe length, fittings, regulators, gas meter capacity, elevation, and other connected appliances. Pipe length should also account for fittings, with the manufacturer reference chart noting approximately 5 ft of added length per fitting.

Push Button Spark Ignition: No electrical service required.

All Weather Electronic Ignition: Requires a nearby 120VAC power source.

Bluetooth & WiFi Control Module: Optional add on for compatible electronic ignition systems. Utilizes the same 120VAC power source as the ignition system.

Rechargeable Battery Bluetooth & WiFi Module: Optional all in one battery powered ignition and control system for installations where line voltage is unavailable or difficult to access.
